The frame is welded steel angle with a polyester powder-coat finish. Shelf surfaces and outer skins are white polypropylene and the front covers are clear, impact-resistant polycarbonate with large handles.

The cabines are sized to allow a 1" space between each battery to promote air movement and eliminate hot spots. The middle shelves have large diameter holes for air movement and cable passage.

Venting of hydrogen gas to the outside of the building is done with installer-supplied 1" PVC pipe. A fitting is supplied with the cabinet that enables connection of the pipe to the top panel.

Local Option - Sales and Use Tax Exemption for Renewable Energy Systems
Colorado enacted legislation in April 2007 (SB 145) to authorize counties and municipalities to offer property or sales tax rebates or credits to residential and commercial property owners who install renewable energy systems on their property. HB 1126 of May 2009 added solar thermal (non-electric) systems to the list of renewable energy equipment eligible for the sales and use tax exemption.
